Watch: 9-Year-Old Police Canine Retires To Standing Ovation

Bronx, a loyal 9-year-old Belgian Malinois, was given a standing ovation and a farewell fit for a hero earlier this January.

The dog recently retired from Bakersfield Police Department SWAT Team in California. He served at the Bakersfield Police Department alongside his handler, Senior Officer Chris Dalton, for eight years.

Bronx took his last strut down the hallway of the Police Department earlier this month as the video above shows and was met with thunderous applause fit for the very good boy!

"He is one of the longest serving K9s our agency has ever had. Chris and Bronx have been partners since January 2010, and have served on the SWAT Team since 2014," a Facebook post from the Bakersfield Police Department read. "Bronx has done numerous demos for schools and tour groups at our department and has been awarded many awards throughout the years for his dedication, skills, and work. Thank you for being a loyal K9 all these years, Bronx!"

Now that Bronx is retired, he has a life of relaxation ahead of him, which he will continue to share with his partner Chris and his family.

Good boy, Bronx! Hope retired life treats you well!
