Dog Only Eats Half The Food In Her Bowl For A Heartbreaking Reason

A story behind why a sweet dog only eats half the food in her bowl went viral and touched people around the world.
Filmaker Easton Dufur used one food bowl to feed both of his labradors, Stitch and Cookie. Ever since Cookie was just a pup, Stitch taught her to eat half of the bowl so that there would be enough food for both of them.
Sadly, Stich passed away earlier this month and Cookie continues to leave half the food in the bowl for Stitch even though Dufur's been giving Cookie less food.

Dufur spoke to Mashable about the close bond the two dogs shared.
"We got Stitch when I was in kindergarten. Then around the third grade is when we got Cookie. We felt that Stitch should have some company. But they were like Batman and Robin they were always together they always always got along and always were playing with each other and taking care of one another."
Dufur shared the video below on Twitter showing Cookie and Stitch during happier times along with Dufur's grandpa's dog who was over during Christmas, as well.

Though it's been a difficult time since Stitch's passing, Dufur told Mashable that Cookie is doing well considering.
"We still are making sure that she is getting love and comfort that she needs right now so she is doing well," said Dufur.
