Bystander Smashes Stranger’s Car Window To Free Dog Trapped In Hot Car

In Cornwall, England, a very concerned citizen broke a stranger’s automobile window to free a trapped dog who looked to be in extremely bad shape in the heat while its owner went inside to get pizza from Pizza Express. 49-year-old Clive Oxley took matters into his own hands when he and a friend spotted the poor pup locked in a stranger’s Kia according to the Daily Mail

Oxley saw the that the dog was struggling to breathe so he smashed a side window and saved the dog. When the owner returned a little later to the scene where police had then arrived, she revealed that she had left the dog in the car for a whole hour while she went to eat at Pizza Express.

Oxley, the dog’s hero, was horrified. “There is no reason at all to leave a dog in that state. But for something as significant as going for a pizza is unbelievable.”

“The poor dog was absolutely boiling in a tiny cage with no water and no air. You couldn’t even touch the roof of the car, it was flipping boiling.”

Inside the car, it was estimated to be a whopping 125 degrees Fahrenheit!

Oxley insists he would do it again in a heartbeat. “I would tell anyone in my situation – just smash it and get it out. It was virtually breathless when we finally got it out. It wouldn’t have had long left.”

If the owner gets to keep her dog, who is luckily okay thanks to Oxley’s heroic actions, we hope she has learned her lesson to say the least.
